Question: How to replace my a/c fan switch?

I think my a/c fan switch is going bad, because my fan will only work when it is set to the highest speed. The air will still be heated or cooled, but the speed is all or nothing.

Its not the fan switch. The blower motor resistor is bad. I have never worked on your type of vehicle but this is waht happens when the resistor goes bad because the power to the blower motor does not go through the resistor on high speed. This can be proven to you by checking voltage at blower motor connector. There will be 12V as for the other speeds it goes through the resistor to reduce the speed of blower motor. The blower motor is in the dash and can be seen from the passenger front floor board. Look for the blower motor assebly it is close to being round and there is 1 connector with two wires going to it. Follow those wires away from blower motor and where they go next is the blower motor resistor. Here is a website so you have an idea what your looking for. You will not see the whole thing due to it being resecesed into hvac case.

If you enlarge the image of the first or third picture the black part on the very left side is where the connectors go in and this is what you will see. It looks like there are two small screws holding it to the hvac case. Any questions please just feel free to add a reply.
