i lost my key and needs to replace it

    the easy way if you toyota dealer will do it and that lock has not been changed in the past. The dealer can make a you a new key , providing that you can prove ownership of the auto , they take the VIN number and can look up the key code thus making you a new key.

    On older cars the dealer may not be able to cut a key by VIN #. If the same key opened the door lock and worked the ignition lock a good locksmith can remove the door lock and cut a key off of that that can then work the ignition.
