on a chevy tracker,the frontend is boucing and noisy evrytime i hit pathholes

    Replacing the front struts is not too hard if you can get assembled replacement strut assemblies that's basically a nuts-and-bolts job but if you have to replace the strut insert or disassemble the strut assembly in any way you'll need to compress the spring to do the job.
    I don't recommend you take that on as a beginner because of the hazards involved in compressing the spring, dissembling and reassembling the struts.

    The 2002 Chevy tracker struts are side by side. I don't think i have to remove the springs. What i mean; do i have to remove the single top bolt without removing the top plates?
