2006 Mercury Milan Question: How to fix coolant temp sensor?

Bill8, 3.0L V6, Marietta, GA, July 21, 2012, 12:24

My check error light was scanned by a local parts store. They said the code was for a coolant temp sensor. Where is this part located on my car? If I can reach it I can probably fix it myself. Thanks.

Code can be set for many reasons besides temp sensor failure.Get service manual (consider that your treat $ , for doing the labor yourself!). then check the wires(circuit) and test the sensor before replacing it.You didn't give a specific code # , that's why I say there are many variables. A stuck-open thermostat can set a coolant temp 'out-of-range' reading etc..
