How to fix a transmission indicator needle on the instrument panel shifted to the right .??

    Alldatadiy.com is where I would go to get the brake service procedures for this car. It costs a little but is worth it.

    I have this same exact problem with my 98 Merc Mountaineer. It doesn't really cause any problems though

    Place the shift lever in the park position. Remove the panel cover directly under the steering shaft at the dash. Check to see if the plastic part of the indicator is not cracked. If not, then adjust the needle assembly all the way to the left so as to line it up with the shift lever. Make sure it is secure and replace the panel cover.
