Question: How to change a speedometer for a 2002 beetle?

I have a 2002 Beetle and I would like to install a new speedometer which show KM & MPH at the same time. I have the part but I need to replace the old one. Could you tell me how could I manage to do so??

    You need to remove the whole top of the dash board that runs completely from either end of the windshield. Then once you have done this, you can remove the cluster and remove and replace the speedo. You will need to have some of the computers reprogrammed at the dealer or an advanced independent shop with an up to date VAG (VW/Audi scan tool )

    As I recall the speedo can be removed without disturbing the dash itself.
    The instrument cluster has two (?) attaching screws at its base and can be removed as a unit.
    You may or may not have to recode the speedo and/or the immobilizer.
    Once you install the speedo if the engine starts and the speedo is accurate your probably done.....

    If need install a new speedometer or from second hand you don't need pay a lot of money. I find cheap solution buying VW emulator. To this emulator i get manual with photo how it connected and it is very easy. www.elektronika.renado.pl
