Depends on what the 'engineers' had in mind when they formulated the pad material. I can't speek for other makes , but on a large percentage of newer ('03&up) Hondas , that's normal. '07 & back, you would typically see 50K+ on a set of rear pads , now the 'high side' average is 35K. My theory , is that since they have computers controlling more , they want the friction material more adapted for that , rather than 'human' response?
