2004 Ford Explorer Question: How much would it cost or what's an estimated cost to replace servo bands?

What's an estimated cost to replace the intermediate servo band or all the bands? I saw on one website it's around $199 per part but what's an estimate for parts and labor? It knocks/jerks real hard at 2nd gear..

The bands require the transmission to be completely disassembled to be replaced. Check with a transmission shop about pricing, but expect most to advise you overhaul the unit and not just do a Band-Aid repair if the bands actually are indeed in need of replacement. A common problem is failure of the servo's that apply the bands, and wear in the bore that the servo apply pin passes through the case. These often need to be reamed out to a larger size and a sleeve installed.
