Question: How much will it cost to have a rebuilt transmission installed.

The dealer says I need a rebuilt transmission. How much will it cost for both the transmission and labor? The dealer quoted $3300 and eventually came down to $2895. I am thinking of using a transmission shop. Does a warranty cost extra? If so, how much should it cost? Thanks.

    trans shop is better. will be around 1700-2200. yes, warranty is extra. they will give you a 6 month 6k on the rebuild but i would get an extended.

    Find a shop that will install a used trans. Slavage yards do warranty their parts.
