Noisy muffler when car running

    Best thing to do is get estimates from a couple of local muffler shops,These kind of estimates have to be seen in person because usually some of the exhaust piping itself has rusted through and will need replacement at the same time as the muffler

    My 85 year old father took it to Progressive Chevrolet, which is very close to us. He didn't think of getting estimates. He was charged $800 and I'm afraid he was taken advantage of, because he is elderly and frail.

    They probably did a good job and should last for years as the dealer has the best parts and trained technicians
