Did see some fluid leakage on the ground, looked as though it came from a transmission cap that was not on properly. I don't want to get stuck with a giant bill for work that doesn't need to be done.Message light says drive slip needs adjusting. i am going on a trip and do want to be safe but would like to have a couple of bucks left over for fuel cost.

Do you have the car serviced regularly at one shop , or is it all-over between jiffy-lube , the dealer and Joes' garage? In other words.... do you have ONE shop that you trust, regardless of price? If you do , bring it there. If not try asking friends for some references of shops they know and call for estimates. Many shops have access to lists of factory recommended services , but you need to let them know what HAS been done in order to not get and pay for the same thing twice.
