The mechanic said the EGR valve needs to be replaced. He said also the timing chain rail, water pump, spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, & thermostat need to be replaced. It's a total of $1842.69! Does ALL of the parts need to be replaced if the EKG valve is burned up? Is this price right?!

You can use our estimator guide for a price on replacing the EGR Valve. As for the rest of the recommended repairs, I cannot second guess the techs recommendation as I do not know your vehicles mileage. Tune ups should be performed every 30K, Tining chain and water pump, I can't answer for you. If the water pump is leaking , yes. If the timing chain is noisy, yes, but I am not there to inspect your vehicle. If you have any doubts, take your vehicle to another shop for a 2nd opinion.
