2005 Hyundai Sonata Question: how much does it cost to change timing belt

You can get a estimate here www.repairpal.com/estimator its a good idea to have this done because this is a interference engine and if the belt breaks it will cause major damage to the engine

it should not take more than 1/2 an hour of labor, and $20 for the belt.

That labor estimate is very low, changing the timing belt can take several hours

yes, there is no place that is going to change a Hyundai timing belt in half an hour. The cost to have my changed at the dealer was $700 (w/o the water pump). It will be $200-$300 more if they change the water pump as well.
