1991 Mazda Protege Question: how long should a repair of trans. leak take?

Sorry, my estimator resource is down tor the time being. I was a Mazda tech and I can give you some good info.
I haven't seen answer #1, but whatever you mean by 'routine,' the only 'routine' seal replacement is for the side (driver) seals which probably will cost about 1.5 hours labor time for either, and a little less than 3 hrs for both. If they offer to charge you more than that, say 'No.' This is easy work so they may charge less than what I said, anyway.
If you mean the transmission input seal for a manual, or the torque converter seal for an automatic, neither of these jobs is 'routine,' and either requires removing and replacing the trans which would be several hours total, maybe 6 or 7 hours labor charge. Again, could be less. Can't say for sure.
Either a transmission shop or a Mazda specialist would estimate from the same book. I'd prefer a Mazda guy for this job.
