Question: how long can i drive on bad wheel bearings and can i go out of town?

sounds like a little airplane idling on the tarmack at the airport. gets louder as i drive faster. feel it on drivers side. three people have told me it is the wheel bearings when i describe it to them.

    I would not drive on bad wheel bearings as you can do more damage to the drive line system. driving out of town is out of the question

    It's probably the bearings, but have a serious look at your tires - if they are worn in a choppy pattern, they will howl that way also. Still not a great thing to drive a distance, but less urgent than bearings, perhaps.
