Question: How important is it to replace timing belt system accessories

How critical is the replacement of timing belt system accessories such as tensioners, etc. when replacing the belt? How can the average person guage the quality of those parts and whether they legitimately need replacement?

    you have to trust the people working on your car. it ia always recommended to replace all the accessories as they fail when they are old and could cause thousands of dollars in damage.
    i would also do the water pump, thermostat and flush the system as well.
