Question: How hard is it to replace a Coil Pack and Spark Plugs?

I just got an outrageous quote to replace a coil pack and spark plugs. The good news is that i paid for the diagnostics and have a list of items that need to be repaired so I know what to ask for.

suggesstions...?

    Did you compare there estimate with the Repairpal Estimator and maybe get a quote from one of the shops listed in your area just to double check the estimate

    If you do it yourself it may take you a couple hours, but if you have a DOHC 24 valve, you have to take the intake plenum loose, unbolt EGR valve assembly, and unbolt the throttle cable bracket to give you room to shift the plenum off to the side as much as you can. Gap your plugs to the smallest gap, to allow the plug the wear range, check coil pack for hairline fractures... major cause of alot of your problem.

    You can also remove the plastic covering where your windshield wipers are, it is a bit hard to locat the plugs and still a little tight but you don't run the risk of messing up your upper intake
