2006 Mercury Milan Question: how do you time a 2006 2.3l balance shaft? merc ate #2 #4 rod bearing.????

got car at 72000 ran great, developed rod noise pulled pan #2 #4 bearing babbit flaked off.??? has83000 now.

    Flaking bearing material sounds like oil contamination. Are you sure the bearings are not showing signs of burning due to lack of lubrication (run low in oil) or wear due to dirt.
    There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars..
