1997 GMC Safari Question: HOW DO YOU SET THE TIMING ON A 1997 GMC SAFARI ? IM NOT GETTING ANY CODES
Answer #1pushrod June 13, 2013, 21:04Master
Why are you using starting fluid? It is going to backfire every time you spray this into the throttle body, good source for a fire as well! If no start, fuel pump module is the most likely suspect. Fuel pressure needs to be checked IF a no start is your trouble.

I USED STARTING FLUID INSTEAD OF GAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF NOT TO START A FIRE, PLUS MY FUEL PRESSURE IS AT 60 PSI, AND THE LAST TIME I REPLACED FUEL PUMP WAS LAST YEAR AND WHEN I SPRAYED STARTING FLUID IN THROTTLE, IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY AND DIED OUT, THIS TIME ITS DIFFERENT IT SEEMS. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? I REPLACED FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AND CHECKED TIMING, ALSO I'M GETTING GAS THROUGH INJECTORS. BY THE WAY, HOW DO I SET THE TIMING?
