How do you recharge the ac? on 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

AC does not blow cold and I don't feel the compressor turn on. I was told that probably it needed to be recharged and the compressor does not turn on as a safty feature so it would not burn out.

Recharging the air conditioning needs to be done by a certified professional. Handling refrigerant requires certifications. Check one of the shops at that link for a quote.

You cannot recharge the AC. It will be the blower motor or resisters for the AC/heating system in the vehicle. Take your car to the local dealer and they will be able to replace that but it will cost you between $200-$1,000 depending on what they decide to replace...more than likely it will be the whole unit.
