Question: How do you get the shifter knob off? It's a manual.

I read a little bit online that some people just pulled it off. I have tried to days twisting and turning and it wont budge.

    If it is supposed to come off by pulling on it, it will take a good amount of force to do it. BMW shift knobs are the same deal (I was a BMW tech for 8 years). Try pulling with a quick and firm jerking motion straight upward. Be careful not to hit yourself in the head when it does break free (been there and it hurts)!
