Daylight running lights stayed on when car was turned off and it drained the battery. Need to take out steering column to find faulty switch?

I went online and the consensous is that you should have a little dome/sensor on the dash usually on drivers side that is it. Hope that answers the question. Doesn't the owners manual have the info?

Thanks. Mechanic himself asked me where the switch was. I had no idea. I thought the lights were on a sensor that went on and off as car was turned on and off. Owners Manual is in car which is at the repair shop.

That's exactly what I did! So let me get this straight. There's a dome/sensor on the dash that controls the
the day running lights? (not the lights on the dash). If that were the case, there'd be no problem. But the lights are supposed to go off by themselves when the car is turned off. Apparently, there's no was to turn the running lights off manually.

I just relayed what they said online because I didn't know and went looking for you. The info could be bogus though.
