I have a 2006 c280 and would like to know how to change transmission fluid and how often do you need to change the fluid?

    I recommend having a Mercedes-Benz professional change the transmission fluid and filter for you at least every 60k mi. Although, doing this service every 30k mi. isn't a bad idea either. You will need a professional to perform this service for you because there is no dipstick for the trans and the fluid level will need to be checked with a Mercedes-Benz special tool. In addition, I recommend having a professional to this to ensure that the proper fluid is used.

    I agreed to have a shop change your transmission fluid and filter because it could be a messy job doing it on your back if your transmission fluid pan does not have drain plug then you would have to take the oil pan off to drain the fluid
