Question: How do you change a negative battery cable

The battery is good, the Neg battery cable is bad. I think its rusted kind of brown, the positive is fine. It seems like one cable that becomes two cables and appears to be grounded with more than one wire. Can I change this myself not being a real mechanic, and is this only a chyrsler jeep product? What is the best thing for me to do and is $80.00 for a mechanic to do it reasonable?

The $80 does sound reasonable. May be able to get at parts store but may not be exact replacement like a dealer part would be. It is a matter of removing the attaching parts and may have to remove other components to gain access where it bolts at other end away from battery. If unsure let the tech do it because voltage surges can damage computers.
