Err just saw you have a different car but it's still worth a shot. For Scion/Toyota: Very easy. Just put key in ignition, turn key slightly and hold down the odometer reset button for 5 seconds or so and it should turn off. If that doesn't work twist it for a few sec to the right or left but as I recall it's a hold down thing for 5 maybe 15 sec max. The Toyota dealer repair guys taught me that one. Cheers!
Customer Concern: The dash has a picture of an oil can with a wrench next to it lit up.
Tests/Procedures: 1. This is the change oil indicator for reminding the customer to change the oil.
2. With a Drivers Information Center follow the procedure below :
Press the fuel information button until ENGINE OIL LIFE appears in the display. To reset the monitor, press and hold the select button while ENGINE OIL LIFE is displayed.
3. Without the Driver Information Center:
Turn the ignition key to RUN, with the engine off.
Full press and release the accelerator pedal slowly 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL light flashes for five seconds, the system is reset. If the light does not flash. repeat the procedure.
Potential Causes: Oil Life Reset
It is a Chevy not a toyo.
