Belt is squealing at start up and the car now wont start. A friend looked and said it was the serpentine belt?

you have a different style of tensioner on this car...located above the alternator is the 1st one...you have to loosen it with a 10mm socket and ratchet...loosen it until it e to be removed from the engine and the replace itwith a new one then re-tighten the tensioner...you should have NO MORE THAN A half an inch up and down movement of the belt after you tighten it...if it squeals when you drive or accelerate then you need to tighten it more..this is a relatively easy task but take your time and dont be afraid questions..maybe the auto parts salesman can help if you get in a bind
