1997 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Q&A

1997 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Question: how do i replace rear axle seal. Both rear seals are leaking.

I have a full floating axle. As far as i know i need to reamove the tires then i have to take off the 8 bolts around so i can pull out the axle. what i dont know is if ill have to get into the differential to remove any types of pins or locks. -
Answer 1
Remove the axle bolts and pull the axle, remove the nut and the bearings, and pull the hub. -
Answer 2
Also just to add, had one the other day that the customer was told the seal was leaking, turns out the axle flang gasket is what his problem was! I just used silicone and resealed it. Now this may not be your trouble but it was just a thought. -
