I can only drive about 15 minutes in normal weather without my car overheating and I know it is because I have to change the thermostat. How do I change the thermostat? There are many things in the way of the thermostat, including something near it with a gasket that I do not want to touch. what do I have to do?

1990 Nissan 300ZX Question: How do I replace a 1986 Nissan 300 ZX thermostat ?

I have an '85 300zx, so this might not be applicable, but the first 300zx's all had overheating problems. The first time my radiator leaked, I replaced it with a dual-core radiator. That helped a lot. I also removed the thermostat completely, further reducing overheating. Takes a little longer to warm up, but never boils over.
