Another common problem with Chevy's is their clusters will go out. You fuel pump may be fine and it could just be a cluster problem. If you have troubles starting your vehicle or it shuts off on it's own, there is a sure sign you pump has given up. For the last year+ my 2000 Chevy Tahoe fuel guage on the dash cluster flickers and isn't completely accurate anymore. The sending unit on the fuel pump may be going bad, but everything is still running fine. If you're worried, take it to your mechanic and have him start by test the fuel pressure. Make sure to replace the fuel filter on time and try not to run low on fuel - it's harder on the pump.
