first of all, you need to find out why the light came on. it comes on when there is a malfunction in the system.
to re set your try to start and then release to the on position and let it sit for 10 minutes. repeat after the light goes out. do this a toal of 3 times. the bcm will learn the new password and it should start.
all this is useless until you find out why the light came on. you need a scan tool to get this reason.

you will need a shop. i am sure there is damage in the column. there are 2 wires on the cylinder lock cylinder and they may or most likely are damaged or broken.

The security light is telling you there is a problem with the passlock II system. There may be a reset procedure in your owners manual, if not, you need a shop with a scan tool. Certain components may need reprogramming to work properly. This is not a DYI'er project.
