 Rookie

In the beginning my car would crank over every time when starting, now when trying to crank it shakes and then a whirring sound, then nothing. It won't catch. After numerous tries I now get a clicking noise, tried at first to boost the battery that was just purchased and after doing so car still won't catch and the above still happens (whirring/whinning) and now the car says absolutely nothing. Please help! Out of ideas and out of money.
