Question: how can the security system be disabled

Flashers will not turn off, maybe it is caused by the security system.

    There is a button under neath the left hand side of the dash that will turn them off. I know this because when ever I worked on a Subaru, this will happen. The button is not easy to find, so use a flash light and you may have to remove a panel to see it.
