Question: how can i get my key out of the ignition

 Rookie

i can not remove the key from the ignition. the car starts and I have no other problems with the key. It does not go to the lock position and I can not remove the key

  It sounds like your ignition Lock Cylinder has failed. You may need a new lock. Good Luck!
