After I started my Mercedes GL450 and changed gear to drive, noticed roughness in driving. Pulled over and put the car in park and back into drive. This time it would not move. It seems it got stuck in nuetral mode with no indication what so ever on the dash board or anywhere.Had it towed to the dealer, they informed me that the automatic transmission pump is bad and they saw metal shaving in the transmission pan. The fix is to replace the transmission. They could not find the cause. They did aknowledge that there is an internal component failure. I called MercedesB USA, they informed me that they had no recall on transmission issues. How can I follow up on what you had stated that Mercedes released updated parts; the transmission will need to be removed and disassembled to complete the necessary repairs.
