My desk isn't too far away from my car when I am at work, and sporadically through the day, my car horn will blow. It is shorter than the sounds when you lock the doors. I tried to blame it on other cars but it happens when my car is the lone ranger in the parking lot. Any ideas?

This is most likely an intermittent problem with your alarm system. The Alarm ( Horn ) sounds a much longer sound when the car is broken into by an intruder as opposed to setting the locks.
It could be verified by disconnecting the horn switch and if it still happens, then you KNOW it is alarm related. You can not disconnect the Horn relay because both the Horn Switch and Alarm System use it.

    Good Luck
