Question: Hood latch breaking

Is there a easy way to replace the hood latch? The wire connected to the latch inside the car is unwinding and breaking.

The hood latch cable is available from the dealer and should be replaced by a repair shop or body shop because if it breaks its harder to get the hood open after it breaks to replace the fauty cable.
