The shop didn't have an oil filter for my 2005 CRV. I had one in the car. Had I known that, I would have donated it to the job. I retired from the auto parts business so I know how the jobber/shop system works. Having said that, the filter for any 2005 Honda product or any Honda product is a popular number, especially in Portland, Or where the Honda car is everywhere. Also, the technician commented that the ATF was "starting to get dark". The AT had been flushed less than 30K miles back (yes, I know about the drain and fill on Hondas). I have since checked and rechecked the ATF myself on several occasions and I consistently get the standard clear pinkish color on the stick. The ATF comment actually bothered me more than the filter. The car was done on time, the employees were pleasant and professional and they honored my coupon. I usually have my work done at the Honda dealer.
