Honda Civic recalls

For Models: Honda Civic

Body, Interior & Misc., November 24, 2004

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda recalled certain 2004-2005 Civic models for inspection of the front seat belt anchors. Some front seat belt anchors may exhibit restricted movement due to an incorrect washer installed. This restricted movement may cause improper positioning of the seat belt, which could increase the risk of occupant injury in a crash. Dealers will inspect the seat belt anchors for restricted movement and replace the affected washer if necessary.

Electrical & Lights, April 5, 2004

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda recalled certain 2000-2002 Civic and Insight vehicles due to a low beam headlight issue. On affected models, the low beam terminal on the headlight switch wiring harness could overheat, causing the loss of low beam headlight function. Low beam head lamps that fail to operate can lead to a higher risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the headlight switch and wiring connector for signs of heat damage. If damage is present, the dealer will replace the switch and wiring connector. If no damage is present, the dealer will replace the headlight switch and one of the terminal pins in the wiring connector.

For Models: Honda Civic

Engine, October 25, 2001

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda recalled certain 2001-2002 Civic vehicles for a concern with the air cleaner box. During the assembly process, the air cleaner box cover could have been damaged, potentially sending plastic debris into the intake chamber. This may cause the throttle to stick in the partially open position, which can cause a loss of throttle control while driving. Dealers will inspect the air cleaner box for damage, remove any broken pieces found, and replace the air cleaner box lid.

Engine, June 29, 2001

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda recalled certain 2001 Civic vehicles for possible corrosion of the fuel pump wiring harness connector. Water may have been left inside the wiring connector during testing. Corrosion in the wiring connector could cause fuel pump failure, which can cause a vehicle to stall without warning. Dealers will inspect for corrosion at the fuel pump. If corrosion is found, the fuel pump will be replaced.

For Models: Honda Civic

Engine, June 4, 2001

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda recalled certain 2001 Civic vehicles to inspect the hose clamps on the fuel filler neck for looseness. In a collision, the filler tube could disconnect from the fuel tank, causing fuel leakage and a fire hazard. Dealers will check the hose clamps for proper tightness and fasten them as necessary.

Drive Train, May 24, 2000

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda is recalling certain passenger vehicles because the accelerator pedal may feel rough or notchy when depressed, causing the vehicle not to respond properly when traveling at low speeds. Dealers will replace the throttle cable.

For Models: Honda Civic

Body, Interior & Misc., May 21, 1999

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Honda has recalled certain 1996-1998 Civic accessory floor mats because they could become mispositioned on the floor, causing interference with the accelerator pedal. This could cause the accelerator pedal to stick. Dealers will install a positive floor mat retention system to secure proper fitment of the mats.
