Airbags May Deploy Unexpectedly
Due to an electrical concern, various components of the airbag system could deploy without warning.
Honda will notify owners beginning October 28, 2013. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Honda recall numbers are JC2 (Honda Odyssey) and JC3 (Acura MDX).
Due to electrical interference the airbag control module may fail causing inadvertent deployment of the front airbags, side curtain airbags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners. Unexpected airbag deployment can result in personal injury and/or a vehicle crash. Dealers will install a suppressor unit to limit the electrical interference to the airbag control module to correct this concern.

Honda is recalling certain model year 2003 and 2004 Odyssey and model year 2003 Acura MDX vehicles. Due to electrical noise, a component in the air bag control module may fail causing the front air bags, side curtain air bags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated.
Inadvertent deployment of the air bags may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash.
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a noise suppressor unit, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or about, October 28, 2013. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009.Honda's recall numbers are JC2 (Honda Odyssey) and JC3 (Acura MDX).
