RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:

What Should You Do?
Due to the low number of vehicles involved and the fact the some have already been repaired, we are designating this a low priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noticed with the shifter operation. For more information, please contact your Honda dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you as to what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
During vehicle assembly, the shift cable may not have been properly secured at the shift lever. This can result in improper gear selection and/or the ignition key may become stuck in the ignition lock cylinder. Failure to select the correct gear can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and secure the shift cable as necessary. The recall is expected to being by August 9, 2010. The Honda recall number is R45.
