my honda crv 1997 runs only at 3km/l. it consumes a lot of gas but it runs great. already had a tune-up, change oil, change transmission fluid, valve clearance checked. what could be causing this?

    You should have the air/fuel mixture checked, if it's using too much fuel the mixture will not be correct. You should have a check engine light on if it's too far out though, is the check engine light on?

    the check engine light is not on. How do you check the air/fuel mixture?

    try checking on the fuel distribution system particularly on the setting of its fuel to air ratio.
