2006 Honda Civic Hybrid Recalls
The voltage converter that sends power from the integrated motor assist (IMA) system to the vehicle's electrical components may fail. This can cause the headlights to turn off, the vehicle to stall, or the engine not to start, which increases the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the voltage converter to correct this condition. This recall is expected to begin by March 18, 2011. The Honda recall number is R69.
On the hybrid battery, a terminal that is covered by a rubber cap located underneath a metal plate behind the back seat may pinch and come in contact with the plate, causing a short. Dealers will install a plastic cover attached to a metal bracket over the rubber cap free of charge to resolve the concern.
