2000 Ford Explorer Question: Hit from behind and SUV won't start.

 Rookie

I was hit from behind and now my SUV won't start at all, will not turn over or anything.

    Because of the impact you could have knoched a wire loose check and see if all the wires are connected.

    Your vehicle has a fuel pump cut off switch - or "inertia switch" - which is designed to cut off fuel pressure when there is a significant impact, to protect against a fuel leak or fire.

    The switch should be located behind the drivers side kick panel area. Press down on the button and see if it starts.

    you have to reset the button which is on the passenger side , by the inside frame under the rug
