high idling on 2001 Ford Taurus

my car has a high idle, 2.5 to 3 rpm, it does not come down...please help!

Could be a type of throttle link sticking. Also might be an engine control system(sensor) or check for vaccuum leaks which may be audible if you use a hose to your ear and listen under the hood around intake hoses for example.
