High idle when cold. Throttle Body? on 1998 Toyota 4Runner

It idles like 1500-2000 when it's cold suddenly. After driving a few minutes it comes down to normal (600rpm) . Someone said check my throttle body it could be getting stuck on carbon. How do I check this and clean it?

It is your Idle Air Control Valve. They stick often in Toyota. Sometimes you can spray some crab cleaner down the Idle Air Passage, but really for the most reliability, replace the Idle Air Control Valve, but, it is not cheap, say $350 plus labor.

Mine does the same thing, but its the cars way of heating up so let it its normal, it goes down after a while because if its high its going to be accelerating while in drive.
