I was quoted over the phone $3,300, for a new tranmission $2,200 plus taxes (.06%) equals $2,332, 11 hr labor ($70/hr) equals $770, transmission fluid $200.00. I drop off the car on May 15, 2014, The agree pickup date is June 24, 2014, when I arrive to pick up my car on Tuesday June 24, Malcom the body shop owner said my car is not ready because the part they ordered for my car was not working, Second agree pick up date is on Saturday June 28, 2014, When I arrive on Saturday, Malcom said they ordered the wrong part and they have to reorder the part. The third agree pick up date is on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, When i arrive on Wednesday to pick upo my car, Malcom said i owe an additional fee for transmission fluids and he change the labor price to $92.40, whithout letting me know of the unauthorize changes he made to my quote. He never provided a written quote when i ask him for the orignal quote, Macolm was unable to provide the orignal. He continue to be rude and very crooked. I will be pursuing civil actions against this facility. Malcom place an unauthorize credit charge on my debit card, I had to call my bank to report a fraud charge.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, I WAS TOLD 4 DIFFERENT DATES THAT MY VEHICLE WILL BE READY, AND TO THIS DAY I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR HI-TECH HAD MY CAR SINCE AUGUST 2014, IT IS NOW NOVEMEBER 2014. THE WAY THEY CONDUCT BUISNESS IS VERY FRAUD, AND I DO NOT SEE HOW THEY ARE STILL UP AND RUNNING TO THIS DAY WITH ALL THE BAD REVIEWS FROM THEIR TERRIBLE SERVICE, THEY CLAIM TO BE DOING ME A FAVOR BUT THE FAVOR WOULD HAVE BEEN TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER, I WAS TOLD DIFFERENT PRICES AND I HAD TO GET OUT OF CHARACTER ON THEM BECAUSE THEY ARENT CONDUCTING BUSINESS RIGHT, NOT TO MENTION THEY DAY I WAS "SUPPOSE" TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE THE ENGINE THEY HAD WAS DAMAGED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT DAY THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT BE READY AND I HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER 3 WEEKS, MIND YOU THEY HAVE BEEN PAID ALL THE MONEY PARTS AND LABOR, AND NO LABOR HAS BEEN DONE. THIS HAD BEEN A VERY STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE SINCE I HAVE NOT HAD MY VEHICLE FOR NOW GOING ON 4 MONTHS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY WORST ENEMY.. READ THE REVEIWS CAUSE I SHOULD HAVE BEFORE I WENT TO THEM.
Took my (One owner, garage kept, very well maintained with records) 2008 Honda Civic in for MD inspection. The guy I spoke with over the phone seemed pleasant, which is why I took my car there in the first place.
They tried really hard to extort money from me...telling me that my car failed inspection because the trunk latch does not work. I told them that the latch works perfectly, and that I had locked it with my key to prevent anyone from opening the truck without the key.
After they confirmed that the trunk latch worked, then they told me that the head lamps were a bit foggy, and that the Rubber Bushing in the Front Control Arm were worn out.
First of all, my head lamps were just fine. The idea that they were foggy is just an attempt to charge me to replace it.
I started having problem with the guys when they told me that replacing the Rubber Bushing would cost me 486.00, plus the cost of alignment. So overall, they wanted to charge me over 500 dollars to replace a rubber bushing..ON A HONDA CIVIC
I'm not a mechanic, but I know a little bit about cars. After asking them several questions on why the price was so high for such a small job, then they told me that bushings does not come by themselves, and that the entire control arm had to be replaced.
WHICH I KNEW WAS A COMPLETE LIE!!!
I took my keys, paid them for their inspection work, went home and did my own research.
Apparently, the bushing comes by themselves. Both PEP BOYS and Advanced Auto shops do carry them, and the price at Advance Auto store is under 26 dollars.
I took my car to another mechanic shop to get it re-inspected. I told the mechanic to pay close attention to the control arm to see if there were any issues there. Everything was fine and the car passed with flying colors.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE. SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND HASSLE AND TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
I am highly pleased with the service that I received at Hi-Tech Boyz on my 2001 Blazer. I took my truck to get it inspected,( by the way the company is a certified MD inspection station, I received my certificate after my truck was repaired) and I received top notch service. The customer service was hands down the best. As a female, we are often taken advantage of in the car repairing industry and I'm a true testament to not being taken advantage of at Hi-Tech Boyz. No, my truck did not pass inspection; in fact, I had actually purchased a lemon. (Private seller took cold advantage) My vehicle needed a lot of work. I had an estimate prepared and written down from Hi-Tech Boyz, which clearly showed all work that needed to be done, as well as the cost for labor. When I say that I shopped that that estimate around.....I LEFT NO STONE UNTURNED!!! Hi-Tech Boyz had the best price around. Now communication is key when dealing with an auto repair place. I made sure everything I was quoted at Hi-Tech was in writing with the understanding that once they really get into the repairs, if other issues outside of what I was quoted were noticed, they would call me first to discuss the issues before proceeding forward. I never received any false charges on my credit card, nor did I encounter any fraudulent activities. Now with my truck being in the shape that it was in, they could have RAILROADED me in costs and labor easily. They told me what was most important to address first, and what could wait for a little while. I appreciated the honesty. I absolutely loved the customer service. They were professional and my car was fixed in a timely manner. As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of building a good customer service based business, and I do NOT accept being treated LESS than professional. Did I read the reviews before taking in my truck.....YES!!! Why did I take a chance in-spite of a few bad reviews? I know that you can't please everyone in business, and the good reviews far out weighed the bad reviews. As the old saying goes ....there are three sides to every story. There is your side, my side and the TRUTH!!! I had my own encounter with Hi-Tech Boyz and it was NOTHING LESS THAN PROFESSIONAL AND PLEASANT!!! If I ever need further repairs, you can believe I'm taking my truck back to HI-TECH BOYZ!!! I couldn't wait for the work to be completed on my truck so that I could share my experience whether good or bad. I do hope that my review helps you in your decision making :-)
I was very satisfied with the work I had done on my Chrysler crossfire, I brought my car in for a check engine light that continued to come on, I took this vehicle everywhere and no one and I mean NO ONE could figure out what was going on not even the dealership. Several places told me I would need a new motor, and for anyone that owns the crossfire knows those engines aren't cheap because its a Mercedes motor and I definitely didn't have that kind of money. I had my vehicle parked at Walmart on liberty road and when I came out I had a business card on my windshield and I thought to myself how ironic that my car happened to need work, so when I went to start my car it wouldn't come on, I called hi-tech boyz they gave me a price on a diagnostic and I got AAA to tow it to hi-tech boyz. They did a diagnostic which was $59.95 to let me know exactly what was going on with the vehicle, they told me the diagnpstic fee was waived towards the repairs so that way im not losing any money, they found out that I needed an 02 sensor and that was causing my car to shut off and put that check engine light on in my dash. I got the work done and my car has been doing well ever since. I'm taking this time out to express my positive experience because it seems people only comment negative and never take the time out to acknowledge positives. Hi-Tech Boyz helped me out a lot and I am very grateful.
