Question: hi bretb! here's the latest diagnosis of my problem!

yesterday, i had my car diagnosed by the same mechanic and he now states that i need a front Y pipe (header pipe)@ $370; catalytic converter replacement and center pipe (down pipe) @ $350 plus components, gaskets and labor to a Total of $720.00 (new parts to be bolted not only welding)...is this a good deal?!..please help!!!

    What was the original problem? Was there a trouble code or 2? It sounds like your original mechanic changed his mind and that makes me wonder why.

    Hi, Im afraid that you are going to spend too much in your repair. The best solution and chepest way to go is to go to a muffler shop.This would save you a toon of money. Usualy the way they fix the problem is building from scratch the hole thing. It could run anything between 250 to 475 for the hole thing to be redone,But at the end you have a new exaust and your option of muffler if you also need one.
