Hesitation on 1993 Ford Taurus

Hesitates when at about 50 or 55 mph when steady pedal is applied. When extra gas is applied by gas pedal it stops. Sensors are supposed to check out. Seems no one can fix. Tried dry gas, checked for vac. leaks with ether. HELP!!!

sounds like a secondary ignition misfire, plugs, plug wires, coil.the reason it does it at a steady speed is that is when the ignition load is the highest, steady speed and going up a slight grade will test an ignition system.and when you put more pedal,it kicks down a gear revs higher and the load is less.spray the plug wires with water and have someone power stall the vehicle to check for arcing out of the wire.also carefully remove one wire at a time from the coil while it is running in park to check the spark intensity.

sprayed wires with water saw alot of arcing. Replace wires. Seems better but found out wires are indexed off by one number. Dist. was worked on last year. Seems to me that it was not timed right. It runs great except for above problem. would the computer pick this up and give me this problem?

obd1 computer in your vehicle will not pick up on this concern.just make sure you are timing is on,and you are set with the ignition system anyways.glad to hear you sorted out the problem with the wires! let me know how she is running, sounds good though.
