i was driving my car today and it was running normal. All of a sudden it cut off. I noticed that the oil was a quart over full so i thought maybe that was the reason so i went and got everything for a oil change and changed the oil filter although this was done one week ago :( it still wouldnt start so i put plugs on it thinking that maybe the plugs had gotton flooded....nope that didnt work either. So advance suggested a crank shaft censor that didnt work either. I have checked all spark plugs they are getting fire. The number one cylindar is getting gas but 234 is dry....i can hear the fuel pump turn on...the car turns over like it wants to start but it just aint doing it.....any suggestions on what it may be???? thanks ....Katie

Thanks....im really at a dead end now. what is my odds of being able to get a scan test done on a Sunday??? And does that cost??? if so what range do you think that i am looking at ??
Replypushrod, October 07, 2012, 01:36Master
SUNDAY REPAIRS ARE TOUGH TO GET. COST DEPENDS ON WHO DOES THE WORK. AUTO PARTS STORES WILL DO THE SCAN FOR FREE. BUT IF YOUR CAR DONT RUN WELL! SHOPS CHARGE DIFFERENT PRICES. I SAY AROUND 75.00. YOU CAN SPEND A LOT THROWING PARTS AT IT ALSO.
STILL YOUR BEST BET IS TO GET IT CHECKED SO YOU KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! SOUNDS LIKE A FUEL PRESS. OR INJECTOR PULSE PROB.
BUT THAT IS JUST A BEST "GUESS" GET IT CHECKED!! AGAIN, GOOD LUCK!

If the car dosent have a blow off valve for the fuel how can i check it????????? I am stuck on the side of the road....and options are low. i was comming to visit my mother with my small children and this happend to me....school starts back to morow and i am just in a tight bind

THERE HAS TO BE A WAY OUT OF THIS ONE, YOU CAN'T DO MUCH REPAIR WORK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I THINK YOUR ONLY OPTION IS TO CHECK AROUND AND GET SOME HELP. GET IT TOWED AND FIXED! BORROW A CAR,RENT A CAR. STUFF HAPPENS IF THIS THE WORST THING EVER TO GO WRONG THEN IT AIN'T BAD AT ALL. WISH I COULD BE MORE HELP BUT IT WILL WORK OUT!
