 Rookie

hi i just bought my car and they told me that it needed a new water pump if my car make a real loud squick sound when i push down the peedle what does that mean

    You could very well have a bad bearing in the water pump. If you ever have questions about a suggested repair, have the mechanic show you the problem and have them explain why they are suggesting the repair. I do it all the time and the customers go away with a much better understanding of what the part is and why it needs to be replaced.
